“We are what we do, but also what we dream.” – Priyanka B
I breathe business. My first guru was my father. I was a teenager when he took me under his wing, allowing me to witness the highs and lows of building a multinational company.
I started working at the age of 16 and founded my first company at 21. After earning my college degree, I completed my Masters and moved onto managerial positions within multinational companies.
I still see myself as a serial learner. Mr. Praveen Vishakantaiah – former president of Intel India – once told me to always remember the power of q/cu: question and curiosity. I never forgot to live by those words; along with my determination and hard work, they made me who I am. I would not be the person I am today without the experiences and opportunities I’ve had throughout my entrepreneurial journey.
Nowadays, business is my routine, marketing my passion, and a sustainable society my paramount goal. I believe we are all blessed in our own ways, but some of us have the means and time to pay those blessings forward. As a UN Sustainable Goals advocate, I’m on a mission to create a better world. I’m also building my legacy one brick at a time. I still have a long way to go, but I’m ready. I’ve always been.

The story of my higher education is not a linear, rosy one. In fact, it begins with the major setback of getting into Columbia University, but ultimately not being able to attend. Coming from a different culture, the idea of a “Manhattan life” was not well received by my newly-migrated family, for which I was asked to attend St. John’s instead – located in the more familiar environment of our new neighborhood.
Surprisingly, I didn’t have the chance to regret not going to Columbia: attending St. John’s University turned out to be one of the best things in my life. The institution gave me a unique series of perspectives: I got to know myself and my abilities better, becoming a more confident, knowledgeable person.
After acquiring my Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and being honored by the National Marketing society at SJU, I was referred to Fordham’s University M.S. in Marketing Intelligence Program by Dr. Timothy Keiningham, one of my early mentors and teachers. After two years of hard work, I received my Master’s degree in August 2019. Fordham detailed my marketing abilities, and I will always be thankful to the institution for broadening my intellectual curiosity and strengthening my passion for my career.
